What it shows
- One row per customer with ageing columns (Current, then overdue periods) and a total
- Approved outstanding invoices, less credit notes and overpayments not yet applied
- Amounts as at the report date, in your base currency
Where to find it in Xero
Reporting > All reports > Aged Receivables Summary.
Settings worth knowing
- Ageing by due date or invoice date
- Ageing periods: how many and how long
- Extra columns such as credit limit and available credit
- Grouping by contact group or tracking category
Things to watch out for
- It's a snapshot: an invoice paid after the report date still shows.
- There's no option to hide credit notes or overpayments from the total.
Getting it by email on a schedule
Xero can't email reports on a schedule, so the usual routine is to export the report and attach it by hand. Reportpost builds the aged receivables summary from your Xero invoices as at the day it sends, netting credit notes, overpayments and prepayments as Xero does, so the totals should match Xero's report for the same day. By due date the columns are Current, 1 to 30, 31 to 60, 61 to 90 and over 90 days. You can age by invoice date instead, with columns from 0 to 30 days up to over 120 days. Choose weekly, every two weeks, monthly or quarterly, and the recipients. You can try the demo without connecting Xero.
